Money For Milk
a drop of milk makes an ocean of difference!

BACKGROUND

In August 2009 the Reeds Weybridge RFC U15 boys team toured South Africa in association with Touraid & Edwin Doran Travel, and visited Baphumelele orphanage in the township of Khayelitscha , 10 miles outside Cape Town.
Babies given up to the orphanage are often left anonymously at night by desperate parents through a darkened window. They ring a bell and leave alone.
Unemployment runs at 60% in the township with drugs, serious illness and crime daily facts of life, so at least these babies are safe.
A spontaneous collection amongst the boys was given to Rosie Mashale, the founder and MD of Baphumelele who we learnt was going to use the money immediately to pay for urgently needed milk
